Chinese 5-Phase Theory is my favorite food model because of its complexity and its potential for endless discovery and possibility. The 5-Phase model depicts food–each with their own energy and relationship to specific organ systems–with the organ systems, parts of the body, and emotions and moods. With time and familiarity, this model can help you discover ways to use foods to improve moods and support organ systems. With little effort, the model can assist you in planning and preparing meals that are well-balanced, energizing, and satisfying.
